Abiword upgraded

May 12, 2008 — BarryK
I have upgraded Abiword to version 2.6.3. In fact, I introduced or upgraded all of these:

The only plugins that I did not compile are Abicollab and OpenXML, as they need the 'boost' library, which I did not install.

I am wondering if I should include link-grammar (1.4MB uncompressed) and aiksaurus (712KB uncompressed) in the 'standard' live-CD, considering their size. That grammar checker (English only!) would be nice to have ready-to-go. (Pity we can't have the grammar checker for SeaMonkey/Firefox too!)

"Hi Barry, I've been trying to workout the abiword font issue that everyone has in the latest release of abiword, not the older one your using but the current model, basically all the fonts in /usr/X11R7/lib/X11/fonts/misc no longer work. I downloaded other .PCF fonts and tried them and had the same results, basically abiword no longer uses .PCF fonts, the PCF font if I'm correct are for xorg, Is there anyway of removing them and using ttf fonts as a replacement? or is there a way to hide the PCF fonts from abiword finding them, so you don't have a list of broken visible fonts in abiword. Like can we blacklist them? I didn't know where to post this, so I figured this section fits. Thanks Barry :) ttuuxxx

"Ttuuxxx, I don't know, I have been puzzling over that too. In Upup, Abiword lists all the fonts but can't actually use them all. I haven't been able to give it much time though.
