Sony memorystick?

May 19, 2008 — BarryK
The 2.6.25.4 kernel has a driver for the Sony memorystick. However when I searched using Google, all I can find are questions by people who can't get it to work (the internal reader in laptops, not with a usb reader) and replies from people who haven't been able to give a solution.

My laptop internal reader supports these:

* 5-in-1 card reader, supporting Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick® (MS), Memory Stick PRO™ (MS PRO), xD-Picture Card™ (xD)

Does anyone know if one of these is the same as a Sony Memorystick?

Yes. When a card reader refers to Memory Stick it is referring to Sony's proprietary flash memory format. http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProductCategory.action?site=odw_en_GB&category=REC+Memory+Stick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_Stick
