(SP1) puppyserialdetect 1.1h

October 17, 2008 — BarryK
Version 1.0 of this utility was originally put together by myself -- not written, as it was mostly based on open source code that I found elsewhere -- Red Hat and Mandrake I think. Since then, Jesse has been greatly improving the utility. There was a 1.2 version from me I think, but it had some rough edges. The version in Puppy 3.01 and 4.00 is 1.1g, which until now has been Jesse's latest (released in early July 2007).

Due to problems with /dev/ttyS[0-4] serial probing, Jesse has added a '-n' commandline option to disable that and only probe for USB and PS/2 mice (and optionally keyboards). This is now version 1.1h.

I intend to make use of this for mouse detection in 4.1.1. Stay tuned for the next blog post.
