Melbourne here I come!

December 04, 2008 — BarryK
I'm taking an unplanned holiday. What has happened is my daughter accepted a job offer in Melbourne. She has a partner but he is staying on in Perth and she asked me if I would come over with her to help out. She is 20 years old, doesn't like her current job, wants a complete change, hence this sudden move to the other side of the country.

I'm going early January, for a few days at least.

I'll probably stay with a relative. Yep, got some rellies in Melbourne -- hey I was born there.

ttuuxx, if you're reading this, I think you're in Melbourne? I might drop by for a cup of coffee and a chat. Do you want a nice cat, or a little dog?

You'll fing Melb a bit different - I had my first visit to Perth last May - like a big country town. Just choose your suburb carefully. I'm in the outer south, and after 25 years still getting used to it.

"I come from Sydney but Melbourne is great. Well ahead of us they are in many ways. Good shopping..your daughter will love it. " Just choose your suburb carefully " well of course this applies everywhere. Anyway i hope that everything works out for you both. Enjoy your trip. Chris.

"What a coincidence! My daughter has been living in Melbourne for about a year. She comes home to stay the Tuesday before Christmas. My daughter Corinne is 24 and has plenty of friends in Melbourne. Perhaps we should get them connected by Facebook so they can share experiences? Have a nice holiday, make good use of the many fine restaurants and the free tram. Tell your daughter that DFO near Southern Cross station is a great place to shop, as are Queen Victoria markets.
