Woof alpha5 available

Woof alpha5, along with Ubuntu-based Jaunty-Puppy build live-CD version '463' and 'devx' sfs file:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/test/woof-alpha5/

The live-CD file that most people will want is 'upup-463.iso'. There is also 'upup-463-SCSI.iso' for testing booting from a SCSI drive.

There are a couple of readme's, including one introducing T2-Woof.

Download went OK I again used the trick of selecting a higher res than my monitor can support (xorg) then when a selection of possibilities came up choose my required res. If would have just used xorgwizard default I am given a lower res option to the one I have chose . . . Anyways good luck with Upup :)

éèm"Barry, thank you for the kernel 2.6.29.1. My second sata drive in the Medion MD8818 is supported like in Intrepid 015. By not paying attention, I did an upgrade from 461. That worked ok. Only thing, I had to re-confirm the ps/2 mouse, which still has no scroll support, but you knew this. ;-)

"Ah, because you are upgrading, there is no scrollwheel support. I might have to put in a hack to fix that. Manually, edit /etc/mousedevice and change the entry "psaux" to "input/mice". Then the scrollwheel should work, after a X restart.

CUPS hitch

"Thanks for the fixes of CUPS and gxine! I can now print from Abiword, Gnumeric, OpenOffice, etc. Only one small issue caused me a problem with CUPS. I have an Apollo P-1200 printer and this model was not in the Apollo list so I used the ppd file which worked in Intrepid Upup. This was a bad move - it didn't work. I checked with my Ubuntu Jaunty and same issue arose. However CUPS in Ubuntu offered my model and it worked. I copied this ppd file over to upup463 and it worked. Looks like the model data needs to be updated.

SCSI

"I have tested woof alpha 5 on a very old PC 500 MHZ 128 M with a SCSI hard disk driven by an Adaptec card. Three partitions SDA1 NTFS with win 2000, SDA2 EXT2 Woof, SDA3 Swap. The frugal install is OK but full install does not work. I think it is a problem with Grub (name of the partitions). Thank you for all your job. PS please excuse my English.

Firefox dbus error

I did not see this error in previous upups. Is it possible to suppress the error message?

Thunderbird GConf/dbus Error

"I am seeing a similar error to the Firefox error described above when I run Thunderbird from the terminal. Unlike Firefox it does not generate a dialog box error when run from the menu. Otherwise, Thunderbird runs as expected.
