2.6.29.2 kernel

May 08, 2009 — BarryK
I have made some configuration changes relative to the 2.6.29.1 kernel used in Woof alpha6:

'ticks' enabled, single-processor.

These are config. changes relative to the 2.6.29.1 compile as used
in Woof Jaunty pup alpha6, april 2009:
Processor type and features: < > /dev/cpu/microcode - microcode support
Bus options (PCI etc.): [*] Message Signaled Interrupts (MSI and MSI-X) (CONFIG_PCI_MSI)
Generic Driver Options: [ ] Include in-kernel firmware blobs in kernel binary (CONFIG_FIRMWARE_IN_KERNEL)
Wireless LAN: <M> Marvell 8xxx Libertas WLAN driver support with thin firmwar (CONFIG_LIBERTAS_THINFIRM)
<M> Marvell Libertas 8388 USB 802.11b/g cards with thin firmware (CONFIG_LIBERTAS_THINFIRM_USB)
DOS/FAT/NT Filesystems:
Previously was this:
(437) Default codepage for FAT
(iso8859-1) Default iocharset for FAT
Changed to (recommended by MU):
(850) Default codepage for FAT
(utf8) Default iocharset for FAT
Kernel hacking: [ ] Enable __deprecated logic
[ ] Enable __must_check logic

A tickless multi-processor kernel will come later, when I get to Jaunty pup beta.

I don't know how to interpret kernel compile options and don't know with one made that my second sata HDD in the Medion MD8818 was supported. I hope the 2.6.29.2 still supports it.
