Pburn, SeaMonkey upgrades

July 28, 2009 — BarryK
Pburn 2.5.5
Yeah, but zigbert has just announced 2.5.6, so I'll be upgrading again!

SeaMonkey 1.1.17
This is the latest in the 1.1 series. It has the Mail and News module.

Menu spacing
Still undecided, but decided to stay with 16-bit height for the second-level menu for now, at least for the 4.3pre-beta. This will be considered again later.

Before you install this upgrade of SeaMonkey, I thought you should know that AdBlocker plugin will not install with it. NoScript still installs. I installed it over a previous update and did not loose any bookmarks. But addons and plugins need to be reinstalled.

"
Could we have Flashblock and Noscript installed as defaults?
Same here, please! ;-)

"Yes for convenient blockers, although addons should be user-choice (for upgraders, NoScript settings and such are portable as retained in profile - AdBlock may be simpler for those new to gecko browsers .. which reminds me, there *was* a local help for SeaMonkey some versions ago which was quite good as I recall). Also perhaps individual component icons (Navigator, Composer, etc) might be used in the mainmenu? They're already in chrome and usually used in the header (it's a nice clear 'family' set).

Disable addons

"Why not have the add-ons but have then disabled by default? Wouldn't that be "the UNIX way"?
