Full hd install bugfix

August 04, 2009 — BarryK
I have done a test full hd install of 4.3pre-beta on my laptop and some new bugs have emerged.

I have fixed one of them. I found that some code in /etc/rc.d/rc.update runs at every boot, when it doesn't need to. I don't think it does any harm, but does slow the boot time noticeably.

So the good news is that full hd bootup will now be faster.

But there are some more bugs, that seem to have something to do with the 2.6.29.6 kernel, which I now have to track down...

Barry, was the fix for this something you could post? Also I made a little GUI for choosing the default sound card. Nice to have if you have more than one sound card or multiple outputs (analog, optical, hdmi) It's here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=44972
