This has Simple Network Setup version 2.2.

I thought that I had better upload Woof before I embark on changes to handle improper shutdown.

ndiswrapper?

I gather you included ndiswrapper... yeah? Cheers

"No, ndiswrapper has nothing to do with Woof. Ndiswrapper is a kernel module, and has to be in a kernel PET package. There are a selection of kernel PET packages that you can choose from when doing a Woof build. As yet, I have not upgraded the 2.6.33x PET package with the ndiswrapper driver. I see that 2.6.33.1 is out, so I'll have a look at the changelog soon and if it looks good I'll do a compile and will also include ndiswrapper -- that should happen soon, after I finish with this improper shutdown thing.

"Hi Barry anyway we could downgrade xorg on Tpup/Quirky? The one in 4 series worked a lot better on puppy, not just the black transparent backgrounds, but its more difficult to actually use it, before I didn't have to do the xorg test, now I have to and then select the generic drives and do that test also. Plus the newer xorg doesn't come with. Here's one users complaint http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=401314#401314 and another http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=400238#400238 missing the xserver-xorg-video-i810 driver Beem also has the black backgrounds http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=400295#400295 and another one http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=400635#400635 I could understand a min Xorg for quirky, but for Tpup It should be as good as 4 series. ttuuxxx

works!

"Hi Barry I just built a tpup from woof and I was on in an instant with sns-2.2! This is on my main box with the ralink chipset (rt73). Now, I have been a sneeky bugger and built the ndiswrapper into the kernel pet myself, will go and test on my old box now (with the netgear WG-311-V2), and it will be absolute pfix=ram. (hehe) Cheers.

nothing of value

"Hi again Barry I tried my tpup build on my old box (with ndiswrapper).. everything went great with sns-2.2, even got blinky, but then I got fail... I looked at the log and there was nothing but STEP 5a.. OK, getting closer.. I connected from command line with my usual (iwconfig key open xxxxxxxxxx ) and dhcpcd wlan0 and got on in an instant. A weird thing... when I tried "iwconfig wlan0" straight after failing with SNS I got my neighbour's essid reported! Sorry lost that now, I am a bit tired. Cheers

Can't roll back Xorg

"ttuuxxx, It can't be done for Tpup. Once a distro has moved up to a later Xorg, everything becomes dependent on the later X libs. Kirk and I debated the merits of compiling T2 with Xorg 7.3 or the latest. I eventually decided that it would be better to move forward than get stuck with 7.3. I did recently try and compile xorg-server 1.4.2 (which was the last of the Xorg 7.3) but it won't compile with the recent X libs that are in Tpup/Quirky.

"Hi Barry There a typo in line 435 (I think) where step 5a gets echoed to the log file.. ">" is there, should be ">>". Cheers
