October 07, 2010 — BarryK
I have applied these PETs from rerwin:

pup_event_backend_modprobe_fix_to_p43x-5.5.pet
pinstall.sh affects files:
etc/rc.d/MODULESCONFIG, etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit, etc/rc.d/rc.services, etc/modprobe.conf
Updated files:
/etc/rc.d/functions4puppy4, /sbin/pupevent_backend_modprobe, /sbin/pup_event_backend_modprobe_protect
functions4puppy4: unchanged
MODULESCONFIG: This line has been removed:
PREFHSFALSA=' hsfmc97ali:snd_ali5451 hsfmc97ati:snd_atiixp-modem hsfmc97ich:snd_intel8x0m hsfmc97via:snd_via82xx-modem '
rc.services: unchanged
rc.sysinit: 5 changes.
modprobe.conf: unchanged.
pupevent_backend_modprobe: 6 changes
pup_event_backend_modprobe_protect: 4 changes

modem_fix_pack_delta-7.5_to_8-woof.pet
pinstall.sh affects files:
lib/udev/usb_modeswitch, lib/udev/usb_modeswitch.sh, /usr/sbin/pusbmodeswitch, lib/udev/usb_modeswitch, etc/usb_modeswitch.d, etc/usb_modeswitch.d.tar.gz, etc/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch-adapted.rules, lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules-tcl, etc/modules/firmware.dep*, etc/modprobe_includes, etc/modprobe.conf, usr/sbin/connectwizard
Updated files:
/etc/usb_modeswitch.d-20100707.tar.gz, /etc/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules,41-usb_modeswitch-puppy.rules,60-dialup-modem.rules, /lib/modules/all-firmware/*, /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules, /usr/sbin/*

modem_fix_pack_8-patch-2.pet
Updated files:
/lib/modules/all-firmware/cdcacm.tar.gz,dgcmodem.tar.gz,usbserial.tar.gz
...problem with these, they are dated 1 oct, whereas those in previous package are dated 4 Oct -- hence did not install these.
/usr/sbin/get_modem_alternate_device,pupdial -- seem to be already installed by previous package, so did not install.
...oh, I see reading the forum, rerwin updated the previous package, merged this one into it.

I have modified this PET:

usb-modeswitch-1.1.3-1-p4.pet
/lib/udev/usb_modeswitch: file in usb_modeswitch-1.1.3 package, so have to modify that package, rename it to usb_modeswitch.sh
