'pet_packages-lucid'

June 16, 2011 — BarryK
I recently grumbled about the naming of the Lucid PET subirectory on ibiblio.org being inconsistent with my convention and causing a problem with Woof and PPM scripts. See earlier blog post:
http://bkhome.org/archive/blog2/201106/packages-puppy-common-official.html

That is, the sub-directory being named 'pet-packages-lucid' instead of 'pet_packages-lucid'.

I thought of putting a special case into my scripts, but instead have just created a symlink on ibiblio.org. Now, ibiblio has the correct directory:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/

...you can't see that it is a symlink, which might cause confusion, people might wonder why there are two separate folders, but there aren't.

Problem solved. Now when a pet.specs file (db entry) is created for a Lucid PET, the 'path' field can be left empty.

Yes, Sorry, That was a mistake early on and by the time I noticed it, it was too late. This was the same fix that occurred to me.

"Thanks Playdayz. I saw your Post on Sunday. Very good information providing path for the PET I was just commenting here as I look over the URL that Barry shows. And wanted to let him know of the availability. The beta is shown in the ibiblio folder, though. Just trying to help.
