Pmusic 2.6.7

November 03, 2012 — BarryK
We discovered a bug in Pmusic 2.6.6 in Precise Puppy 5.4:
http://bkhome.org/archive/blog2/201210/precise-pmusic-bug.html

The problem was Pmusic not starting when click on an audio file in the file manager.

Zigbert has fixed it, now version 2.6.7 (106KB):

Note, zigbert is now working on the next-generation Pmusic, 3.x:

Hi Barry, On numerous occasions we have discussed how the loaders.cache file for gdk-pixbuf should be updated. I first brought it to your attention on your old blog: http://bkhome.org/archive/blog2/201102/modem--10-upgrade-postponed.html and again: http://bkhome.org/archive/blog2/201106/39mageia2ppm39.html In Precise it has come back to bite. See the user's complaint and my explanation of why it happens: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=81681 Cheers

"Guys, please DO NOT install Pmusic 2.9.9 or be very careful. I tried it under older Slacko 5.3.3 but it opens Pequalizer only. Then starts playing stream from http://api.jamendo.com - no chance to kill aplay, ffmpeg or anything: keeps playing even after CTRL-Backspace. Zigbert, could you check and fix please?

pmusic uses ffmpeg?

"Clicking a music file breaks any ffmpeg running process in speedy 5.2.2 (my favorite puppy until now). I had to uninstall the excellent pmusic in order to avoid this accident. :)

"Will you please keep pMusic feedback to the pMusic thread. Thank you! Regarding ffmpeg trouble, you should tell what pMusic version you are running. I tested now with converting a movie with FFconvert while I started pMusic 3 and navigated in tracks. No problem. Sigmund
