Precise Puppy 5.4.2

November 30, 2012 — BarryK
I was touting this as a bug-fix-of-a-bug-fix release, however it has significant changes at the Woof-level, so I have bumped the version number from 5.4.1 to 5.4.2. The previous releases (5.4.1 and 5.4.1-retro) were announced here:

"retro version is paramount for my activities and very welcome. Would be great if a reduced retro could be available; think you had considered this in an earlier blog? 200M .iso is just too heavy. Something like elroy's lina-lite would be ideal, esp. if it included a text panel how-to about adding one's personal choices from the PPM.

"aarf, Yes, that is a regular question, how to use a delta file? Online, you will see the directory "delta_files", and the naming of the files should tell you what they do. Just download a delta file, then, as aarf says, just click on it. Or, you can start from the menu: Menu -> Utility -> Xdelta file difference manager ...then, it is just a matter of drag-and-drop of the old .iso file and the delta file. The Xdelta app also has a 'Help' button with further explanation. This presupposes that you have previously downloaded versions 5.4 or 5.4.1 of Precise Puppy.
