caps_eq, nrg2iso, alsaequal

February 06, 2013 — BarryK
Package 'caps' is required by package 'alsaequal', which in return is required by 01micko's Pequalizer -- a gui audio equalizer.

The 'caps' plugin is actually a shared library, which is about 880KB to 1000KB. It has many LADSP ALSA plugins inside, but we only need the 'Eq' (equalizer) plugin. Hence, I undertook to cut the package down...

Which took me most of the day. No matter what I did, I couldn't get my cut-down caps to work in Wary, having compiled in Wary.
I finally did it in Precise, and very strange, my cutdown package compiled in Precise works in both Precise and Wary, but the same source compiled in Wary doesn't work.

The good news is that the caps_eq plugin file is only 38KB.

Anyway, here is the cutdown source, with only the 'Eq' plugin remaining: 'caps_eq-0.4.8.tar.gz', available on my sources repo:

I also compiled nrg2iso, a Nero to iso converter, used by Pburn.

Here are the PETs, in the 'common' repo for all pups to use (13KB, 11KB, 3KB):

And ARM PETs

And here are the PETs compiled for armv7 (12KB, 14KB, 4KB): http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/arm/pet_packages-armv7/alsaequal-0.6-armv7.pet http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/arm/pet_packages-armv7/caps_eq-0.4.8-armv7.pet http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/arm/pet_packages-armv7/nrg2iso-0.4-armv7.pet Notice that I have been compiling for armv7 recently, not armv6. So most of these PETs won't work on the Raspberry Pi.
