network_tray 2.6

February 11, 2013 — BarryK
I originally wrote network_tray, a network connection monitor for the tray. I think it was rodin.s who internationalized it.

Now, rerwin, with input from 01micko, have enhanced it to support Frisbee, with icons to more clearly distinguish the various network connection modes.

The PETs for x86 and armv7 (8K, 9K):

By the way, I am currently running Precise Puppy 5.4.91, with 3.8-rc7 kernel and SeaMonkey 2.15.2. The kernel is configured without PAE support.

Seems to work ok. Tossing up whether to upload it...

Are you thinking of changing the kernel for Precise 5.5 or "5.4.91 with 3.8-rc7" is an one time thing just for the fun or it? I hope the second.

Just fun

"Just want to try the 3.8 kernel. It is uploaded: http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/precise-5.5alpha1/5.4.91-k3.8rc7-nopae/

"Such offerings are always welcome amongst us HW experimentalists. Even more valuable to the drive for academic fraternity are your ARM/Pi contributions. Now that the type 'A' has been released into Africa and an huge donation of 'B' s has been made to schools, this has to be the arena for, potentially, maximum reward?

"Downloading now. Since the vast majority of Puppy users get no benefit from a pae enabled kernel I'm glad to see this..... whatever your reason.
