Leon commented that 184.108.40.206 works better for him, so I did some more tests.
Testing the latest... curses, I am now getting it to hang when I close a tab. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. It won't play full-screen -- something flashes up briefly then gives up.
Back on 220.127.116.11 I don't get full-screen either.
Considering that the latest version is 1MB bigger, and it doesn't offer any compelling advantage, I am staying with the older version.

The Newer flash does have one big advantage. Flash versions 18.104.22.168 or newer supports high definition. See:
Hope you reconsider.

Also, The latest flash works great on www.hulu.com. Full screen works fine there too. Full screen just doesn't work on youtube.

Playing YouTube video in fullscreen mode
- Click the rightmost icon on the control panel under the video clip. Right click the exclamation icon that appears at the right side of the browsers status bar at the bottom of the screen. Click the prompt message that is shown above the icon to start playing video.
- The required browsers settings are:
>Edit >Preferences >Navigator >Tabbed Browsing >Link open behavior >A new window: true
>Edit >Preferences >Navigator >Tabbed Browsing >Links from other applications >A new window: true
If a 'tab' instead of 'new window' is set then video will play in enlarged mode.
But only Flash player 22.214.171.124 works that way for me using SeaMonkey or Firefox.

flash full screen
There are some posts on the forum that the full screen flash problem dosen't exist with icewm, only jwm. Wonder if gxine's full screen problem goes away in icewm? Out of town right now, can't test.

I use Jwm. Tried Icewm but switched back to Jwm.

Ah, I just noticed that I mistakenly switched 'Author' and 'Title' fields in my previous post. :o)

A later flash player enables video playback on pupular sites such as facebook and vimeo. Ive noticed its a bit faster on older kit too.
On the whole, flash is a whole world of pain :-(

I can confirm, switching to icewm cures the flashplayer fullscreen problem with 126.96.36.199

Correction...that is with flash version 9,0,159,0. This is the latest 9 series flash with the security updates.

Flash and JWM
Use the latest JWM snapshot for full-screen Flash video.
