I have always liked Dia. It was built-in to Puppy a long time ago. It's rather big, but that is due to all the shapes libraries bundled with it. When I included Dia in Puppy, I reduced the shapes libraries to just a few. Well, we could do the same again, if we decide that Dia is a nicer option than Inkscapelite. The extra shapes libraries could still be made available as a separate PET package.

You can, with a bit of effort, do everything that Dia does in Inkscapelite. Not the other way around. Inkscape is the better general purpose tool. Dia is more specialised. Sadly though you did warn this would happen, XaraLx is no longer working in Puppy 4 (segmentation error). Maybe it can be recompiled. Maybe not. It means I will be making more use of Inkscape. On several occasions I have installed Dia and learnt to use it but found it easier to use Inkscape or Xara, which is more flexible . . . :)

Hi Barry I noticed that they used your inksccapelite sources over at Mandriva Linux http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3592
Must be a popular application :)
