Puppy now has 'replaceit', a file text-replacement utility. The author is Paul Daniels and the project page is:

The utility is only 5.5KB and is very easy to use. How often do we want to sift through a file and replace some text? In my case quite often. In many cases this tool is a very simple and fast solution.

The documentation is not on the web site, but is in the source package, and I have put it at /usr/share/doc/replaceit.txt in the PET package.

Isn't sed (which is already in Puppy 3.01) doing exactly the same?

Re: sed
That's right, same as awk and ed also. replaceit has less capability but is extremely simple to use. It's about having more choice, especially for those who find sed, awk and ed somewhat intimidating.
