Kernel PCMCIA solution

This is a continuation of my previous post.

I have recompiled 2.6.25.9 but this time without the "extra three" patches. I built a live-CD, booted with 'pfix=ram', hotplugged the PCMCIA modem, this time it works.

So, the culprit is either the Dazuko or CIS patch. My money is on the CIS patch, as I think the filename limit of 14 characters must have some definite reason.

Dougal, if you read this, would you mind reporting this to the kernel-bug-reporter? If they have put it into the kernel, it would be wise for now to retract it.
