Scanner works

I was lacking a scanner to test with. I have an old parallel-port Genius ColorPage VividPro II, but it seems to have given up the ghost.

But, I do have a couple of USB multifunction printers that were given to me because they no longer print. I was cleaning up the place a bit a few weeks ago and put one of these on the verandah, intending to throw it out. It's an Epson Stylus CX5100. I brought it back inside, and 'sane-find-scanner' recognised it.

But Xsane (v0.995) gave a segmentation fault, just like Raffy reported. I tried the old Xsane v0.991 out of Pup 2.17, and it works. So I compiled v0.994, and yay that works.

"seems to have given up the ghost"
Even a 'dead' scanner can yield up a bagload of useful spares. Often it's the cold cathode tubes that go. If not, save them for the next one along. The mirrors, motors and circuit boards all have useful stuff.

4.00 / 2.17.1 mfp
My epson cx3700 usb mfp ok with 4.00, but output images skewed in jwm - fixed by replacing with icewm. No issue in 2.17.1 (which my eeepc prefers - goes better than xandros - 'is dog is good').
