2.6.30 kernel released

It's out:

http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_2_6_30

I will compile it. I want to build Karmic Upup, and that uses the 2.6.30 headers, which does mean that Karmic cannot really be run with an older kernel.

interesting features
There are lots of interesting new things in the 2.6.30 kernel. A few:

This is relevant for my boot scripts, detecting hardware:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=blob;f=Documentation/ABI/testing/sysfs-bus-pci;h=e6ad047cb3c2e626cccdd6ff8589a72137a3d62c;hb=705b1aaa823e800490f157cd9366ad8cff385f5f

This is relevant for resizing the pup-save file without rebooting:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=53d6660836f233df66490707365ab177e5fb2bb4
...I wonder though, they only give the example of the xfs f.s.

More than just drivers
Hi Barry, I make a post about other features for 2.6.30 kernel.

I also posted some questions about using this kernel. Could you check it please.

squashfs
clarf,
there is no problem with squashfs 4.0 in 2.6.29.x, that's what we have been using in recent Woof Upup alpha builds.

2.6.30
Thank you for the feedback Barry.

Including Kernel 2.6.30 seems to be the next natural step for Puppy...
