I will probably make the Liberation fonts into a PET package.
I decided to upgrade the DejaVu Sans font. The latest is 2.31. This is now in Woof, residing at /usr/share/fonts/default/TTF. I also tidied up the building of Fontconfig cache files in /var/cache/fontconfig -- this is now done in the '3builddistro' script in Woof. I removed some legacy '.fonts.cache-2' Fontconfig cache files in Woof.
Note that I compiled the DejaVu fonts with the "LGC" cutdown glyphs. See home page:

Barry, as far as I know you already had to recompile some Puppy kernels for use with Woof (220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168, 2.6.18).
I think it should be very easy to backport SFS4 as you (and I, who cares) did with 22.214.171.124. That should solve all the SFS3/4 issues ... just think of it, if people with retro kernels (and old, slow computers) need to perform all those annoying conversions ... this could be a great addition to all retro kernels.
I want to try to make a 4.1.2 ISO with a SFS4 module to replace the SFS3 one. It requires patching with my 126.96.36.199-SFS-backport patch and one "make modules" with only Squashfs selected.

Barry, would any of these free TTF be useful for puppy?

DejaVu fonts .PET package?
Is there a .PET package of the latest DejaVu fonts so I can update a Quirky install with the newest fonts?
