Video refresh rate
I know you are working on Wary and looking at new stuff to update and add to Woof. I wanted to bring this issue to your attention. The issue is no program used to adjust resolution in Puppy Linux also gives the option to adjust refresh rate.
I know refresh rate can be adjusted manually several ways, but if a program is going to give options for resolution, it should also give options for refresh rates.
Below is part of a discussion in the use of the First Run Dialog in Lucid Puppy, but this applies to Resolution Changer and Xorgwizard.
Where are the resolution settings, that you can select, coming from? I ask because, none of them seem to have common refresh rates.
My monitors best setting is 1280x1024 at 60HZ.
There is a 50HZ, and nothing else.
Next best, 1024X768 at 60HZ.
There is a 57HZ.
All the refresh rates seem to be not normal settings for any resolution.
Like 52, 61, 63, 66, 74, 82, 89, 93 etc......
Bigpup, How does the 1280x1024 at 50HZ actually see? Is the display a CRT?
If it is serious, I have to add new menu for frequency.
It is an LCD monitor so 50HZ is not a big issue, MAYBE? If it was a CRT it would be. The thing is, my monitor specs call for a refresh rate of 60HZ or 75HZ at 1280X1024 resolution.
I am using a Nvidia driver and the Nvidia X server setting program gives me the choice of 1280X1024 60HZ or 75HZ.
A troubleshooting question response from my monitors support;
If your LCD monitor is flickering, it probably means that the refresh rate is set too high. The optimal refresh rate for a Samsung LCD Monitor is 60 Hz regardless of the resolution you are running.
Before you say refresh does not matter on a LCD monitor read this.

Refresh rate fix needed
Bigpup raises an issue that has been annoying me for a long time. For my hardware the automatic refresh rates are far too low. 1024x768 requires a refresh rate of 60-75.
We definitely need an option to select refresh rate.

Re refresh rate
There is an option to select refresh rate in the Xorg Wizard. There is a dialog window that offers a choice of different rates. Are you unable to locate it in the Wizard?

Resolution rate xorgwizard
Yea I can find the refresh rate dialog window in Xorgwizard, but only if I choose to select TEST after selecting the resolution. If I choose OK I have no indication of what the refresh rate is and no offer to change it. Xorgwizard is not the main problem, but it is an issue.
The other programs that offer to change resolution are a real problem, as shown in the picture above as an example.
This is a very important basic function and yes I am asking for a lot of hand holding.

Intel 82G33/31 @ 1024x768
My point is that by default Xorgwizard is not setting appropriate refresh rates for 1024x768 resolution for Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 10). Where is the refresh rate setting coming from? It needs to be 60-75.
Using the dialog to change refresh rate just doesn't work. It forces a change to 1280x1024 resolution which I don't want!
This is not a major problem for experienced users who know what to do but it would be a show stopper for new users.
