When I started Notecase in Wary -- just checking that I have built with the one that doesn't need gtksourceview -- got these error messages:

# notecase

(process:14164): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(notecase:14164): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to create file '/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel.NGQG2V': No such file or directory

(notecase:14164): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to set the permissions of `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: No such file or directory

The locale problem I have always had with Notecase, nothing new there. The missing /root/.local/share occurs at exit of the application.

Here is some discussion about this error message:

Get past someone pontificating about running gedit as root, and the solution is to just create /root/.local/share. However, even leaving it out doesn't seem to matter.

Anyway, I have created rootfs-skeleton/root/.local/share in Woof.

BK: I have just tested Notecase on a pristine frugal install and do not see the errors you see.

Re gtk error
Yeah, it only occurred once. Subsequent running Notecase did not give that error. It would seem that GTK reports that error the first time it occurs and logs that somewhere, then does not repeat the error message.
So, you might have got the error message earlier on, before you tried to run Notecase.

I just tried an experiment. I deleted /root/.notecase/notecase.ini, started Notecase in a terminal, opened a .ncd file, quit, and I got the error message again.
