ARM11 board has arrived

The OK6410 board that I ordered from here has arrived:

It comes with 14 CDs, including with Ubuntu, WinCE and Android. There is a catch though, most of the documentation is in Chinese. For a product that is sold internationally, and advertised in English, this is very disappointing. The main 178-page PDF file for the board, that introduces the board and explains how to use it, is in Chinese.

I looked at the website of the manufacturer of the board, but that also is Chinese only:

So, I am going to also purchase one of the "FriendlyARM" boards, which have all documentation in English. I know this as the docs are available online. These boards are very similar, in fact I should be able to apply the same techniques and get both boards working.

Now, I am going to have to think why I would want two boards. Testing a LAN maybe.

Actually, what I will do first is download the FriendlyARM documentation and see if I can apply it to the board I already have. If so, then I might not need to order the FriendlyARM board.

There is a link to an English site, but am afraid the manuals are still in Chinese only.

ARM boards
Barry, why not get something like the PandaBoard (http://pandaboard.org/) or BeagleBoard/BeagleBone (http://beagleboard.org/)? Or maybe the Linaro development board: http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Linaro-and-Samsung-launch-Origen-ARM-development-board-1252229.html

Note that they tend to use OMAP SOCs, and TI is actually working on a kernel DRM driver for OMAP:

Re which board
Dougal,
I want a board with exact same CPU as used by the RaspberryPi, as I am compiling with optimisations specific for that CPU, as need to get max performance.
