Linux kernel 3.0.66

I have compiled this kernel in Wary.

The sources, including compile scripts, are in my sources repo:
http://bkhome.org/sources/kernel-3.0.66/

I have uploaded the PET, but note, this is for developers only, not for users to install:

re: 1 file
This way uses a lot of ram, so up to 512mb _may_ be needed. Tinycore has a patch that uses a different ram fs so it can be swapped to disk. The interesting thing is although it uses more ram, this method can be used in constrained embedded systems without any additional file systems compiled.

Re 1 file
The last time that I looked at Tinycore, yes it does need a lot of RAM, because, if I recall right, they have the entire filesystem in the the initial ramfs, fully expanded.

I made the note in the Quirky release notes, that after bootup, Quirky is using a tmpfs for the Puppy SFS, which does use a swap file/partition.
Yes, Quirky is using the usual SFS file, xz compressed, mounted with aufs, so uses minimum RAM, furthermore it is in a tmpfs so can swap out.

So after bootup, the only thing that has to stay in RAM is the actual kernel part of kernel.qky.

Actually, Quicky would run in a PC with 256MB RAM, even without a swap file/partition, but it would be tight.

RAM racy vs quirky
I do not know if this relevent.
I used the same save file from racy5491 to start quirky.
As soon as each started I did a free in terminal.
Seems quirky uses about 90 MB more RAM.
