Jwmconfig2 20101229-bk

February 02, 2011 — BarryK
01micko posted an upgrade for Jwmconfig2, to improve behaviour of the page-selectors with JWM 500:

Wary 5.0 has Jwmconfig2 20101228-bk. Forum member don922 reported that the page-selector windows in the tray disappeared (in wary 5.0):

Adding a new launch button to tray causes the screen selector boxes to be removed.

Forum post from don922:

I don't know if 01micko's latest Jwmconfig2 fixes that. The guys who are currently working on Jwmconfig2 may have to check that one out.

The virtualDesktopnew does not work on Wary-500m06 with jwm-500-i18n.(Tried with LANG=C)
NEWCOLUMNS="3" NEWROWS="2" EXIT="done" sed: -e expression #1, char 0: no previous regular expression sed: -e expression #1, char 0: no previous regular expression
Other than the virtualDesktopnew,all seems ok.

"works ok here in spup, but it is not i18n patched. Just be aware that the syntax is different in the /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal file (to 493 and previous versions)
<JWM> <!-- Number of virtual desktops --> <Desktops width="3" height="2"/> <!-- Double click speed (in milliseconds) --> <DoubleClickSpeed>400</DoubleClickSpeed>
Note the new syntax <Desktops width="x" height="y"> which is the actual number of columns and rows. Cheers PS, the add an icon to tray is working ok here too

"01micko, What about the DesktopCount tag in /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal2:
<!-- Personally configurable options for JWM: these override default settings and theme settings --> <JWM> <!-- Tray Autohide --> <Tray autohide="true" insert="left"/> <!-- Number of virtual desktops --> <DesktopCount>3</DesktopCount> <!-- Double click speed (in milliseconds) --> <DoubleClickSpeed>400</DoubleClickSpeed>
"It seems that it is deprecated, and if I left it in there then it is my mistake. (Actually I just checked and I didn't leave it there). The /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal2 is just a backup copy made in most of the operations in all those jwmconfig scripts as far as I know. I first noticed this (virtual desktop change) before the new year and is documented here: in Jwm-498. Note the tooltip with the desktop number too. Perhaps my gui could be a bit more informative. Cheers

"Where did you get that /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal2 file? The autohide option is in my /root/.jwmrc-tray file, and I didn't change that. All I changed was the one line in /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal and /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal2from <DesktopCount>3</DesktopCount> to <Desktops width="2" height="1"/> (2 desktops as default)
