EasyOS 0.9.18 Polish build

January 13, 2019 — BarryK

In the last few days I announced French, Portuguese and German builds:

http://bkhome.org/news/201901/easyos-0918-portuguese-build.html

Now there is a Polish (Polski) build, download from here:

Anyone fluent in Polish is invited to test this.

And, if you feel like it, get involved with improving the translations. This involves using MoManager, and creating a updated pl "langpack" PET.

Note, the earlier builds had English only User Interface for SeaMonkey. The Polish build has a translated UI, but you have to enable it after starting SM:

Menu: Tools -> Add-ons Manager -> "Polski Language" -> click "Enable" button

I am still trying to make this be enabled at first startup.

For Puppy Linux, the main pl translator was Robert (forum member 'robwoj44'), but he is not so much involved these days. Anyone who is interested in translating, is welcome. Perhaps liaise with robwoj44 to make sure no one is stepping on any elses's toes.

The outcome should be an updated pl langpack PET. It will be too time-consuming for me to micro-manage each language build of EasyOS, so I want an updated langpack, that's it, just the one file, makes it easy for me, rather than people sending me lots of individual translations.

Having said that, for the next couple of releases after 0.9.18, translations for individual scripts and documents will be accepted.

Note, this langpack will be different from the one in Puppy Linux, although there are many common apps and scripts. However, for this first pl build, I used an old Puppy Linux langpack PET, created by robwoj44 (I think), dated 2014-11-30:

Furthermore, I won't keep releasing a language-specific build of EasyOS if there is no interest. Someone may only want to commit to being a translator for a short time, that's OK.
