Forum member rerwin has been doing a lot of work with various hardware-related scripts in Puppy, mostly to improve modem and video detection.
On 7th April, rerwin posted a report with a workaround for some old laptops that may hang when trying to get the video setup. Rerwin's post, with solution code, is here:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27859&start=45
The solution involves 3 files, /etc/xorgoverrides, and patches to /usr/sbin/xorgwizard and /usr/X11R7/bin. Rerwin did this work on 4.00beta1.
