JWM tray height setting fixed, frugal test

Forum member Kal reported that the /root/.jwm/jwmrc-theme and the JWM themes Gradient-grey and Original have an invalid <Height> tag for the tray. The height of the tray should only be set by the 'height=' parameter of the <Tray> tag in /root/.jwmrc-tray.

The repercussion of this is that the 'JWM configuration' (from the 'Desktop' menu) has an option to set tray height but it fails.

Now the height can e set, but I noticed that it sets "normal" height as 26 pixels. Dingo has moved up to 28 default height, so I fixed that in /usr/local/jwmconfig2/taskbarHeight. I also bumped the "short" height from 18 to 22 pixels.

Note, the selections of "short", "normal", "tall" and "extra tall" are a bit coarse and it would probably be nicer if the program had a entry-box or a pull-down list for setting in exact pixels.

I have just gone through the exercise of doing a frugal installation. I installed to a ext3 partition and at first shutdown it worked as expected, offering a choice of saving the session to a 'pup_save' file or the full partition. Prit1, what type of filesystem have you installed to? ...if NTFS, maybe that has something to do with it. Anyone else got this problem?

"Yes, Had the same (session not saved) problem on alpha6. Works fine if you use the psubdir boot option. Without the psubdir boot option, session not saved. Ext3 partition on a sata drive. You mentioned the tray height change for dingo, if you use Dougal's revision of asapm you could reduce that.

"On the Classmate I installed Dingo4b1 to a 2gb sd card with ext3 file system. This also gave a session not saved and shutdown without saving. This was a straight install without options at boot time. Dingo saved ok on my usb stick install...hmmm Eric

"I have just run through testing an install to USB Flash drive, works at shutdown as expected. So, why are these cases of a shutdown without offering to create a pup_save? Can you guys who have this problem, please post the content of /etc/rc.d/PUPSTATE on first boot (no pup_save) -- there must be something different in the status on the first boot, something wrong, and this file might show what that is.

"I get the same problem - no option to save at shutdown if a pup_save.2fs file already exists and I select to run in ram at bootup. The earlier versions used to provide this option.

By editing /etc/rc.d/PUPSTATE and adding ext3 (or vfatbut not XX) between the quotes on the DEV1FS='' line the save option appears normally on shutdown. Hope this helps.
