There's a ready-to-go Ubuntu "Intrepid Puppy" live-CD iso file, built from Woof.

Note, I haven't tested building from the other distros for quite sometime.

I've downloaded upup015 and updated my frugal install. The updated version sees openoffice-2.2.0.sfs, and I have it selected in Boot Configuration Manager, but it does not get loaded. It worked OK in upup012.

"Please read the pre-release notes carefully. The Intrepid Puppy live-CD has been built with the 2.6.29-rc7 kernel which has Squashfs 4.0, which is not compatible with SFS files built with older versions of Squashs.

upup freezes upon mouse click

"Sorry I posted this earlier under a wrong post. I hope this the right place. I tried running Intrepid Puppy alpha3 on my Sharp PC-AL60GB laptop but the system freezes upon clicking any of the icons on the desktop. I booted also with acpi=off option and got the same result. I have had no such behaviour on the said laptop when running any of the Puppy 4.2 and earlier ones. Is there any fix for this anomaly? Interestingly, it runs perfectly on my Fujitsu FMV DeskPower C4/80L desktop.

"First time I tried Woof (the intrepid iso). And I'm pleasantly surprised of the current state of it. The system is fast. The fonts seem to be better then ever before (compared to latest stable puppy). Very very clear. And i like the icons and the theme in general (i know that this is not the most important part when you're creating new concept, but still) To save alsa settings, I had to manually create "/var/lib/alsa" and touch "/var/lib/alsa/asound.state". In xorg i had to change protocol to "ExplorerPS/2" to make scrollwheel working. I like the interface of the new packagemanager. I installed some packages from intrepid universe, and that worked well. Some packages really had a lot of dependencies, and checking dependencies took a looong time (and i have intel core2duo). I'm a bit worried about how foolproof it will be in live usage, since you really have to be careful on what to install, or your storagefile will be filled up before you know it (and i don't know whether some packages might conflict with each other, since i don't have full knowlegde of woof yet) Anyway, it has really attracted my attention and i'm planning to try more of it. Comming from slackware, on the desktop, i'm interested in trying the slack version. Thanks for this great concept. I almost read this blog every day.
