Disktype broken

4.3beta1 testers have reported that the Puppy Universal Installer is reporting a ext3 f.s. on a flash drive as ext4. The problem lies with 'disktype'.

As kirk advised, I got the latest from CVS (20090807):

It reads my hard drive ext3 partitions ok, but thinks the ext3 partition on my 4GB Transcend USB flash drive is ext4. Not good. I just checked, the last update in CVS was 4 months ago.

I checked T2 and Ubuntu, they are still using version 9.

Someone should tell the developer. For now, I'm rolling disktype back, so there won't be support for ext4 in the Universal Installer, perhaps elsewhere too.

Dougal said the same thing, I haven't had that problem, but my Flash drives are just FAT32. I have a USB hard drive with ext3 partitions and it sees that just fine. Anyway Dougal made a patch to fix that, I'll send him a PM.

"Looking at their svn files, the ext4 patch is 4 months old, the same as the age of the last change in the official disktype svn. So, highly likely that Pardus are just using the official disktype code, not their own patch. So, hoping that Dougal can come to the rescue!

"I just looked at the Pardus ext4 patch, it looks like it's their own work, perhaps the '4 months' is just a coincidence. I'll test it. Unless it worked the other way, Pardus developed a patch, then submitted it to the official developer! That's highly likely too.
