Kirk has created a very interesting little GUI application to change sound cards. The forum announcement is here:

I have made it into a little PET package, 'mscw-1.pet'. I renamed 'alsamixer' to 'alsamixer.script', and the pinstall.sh post-install script renames the original alsamixer to alsamixer.bin and the alsamixer.script to alsamixer.

Oh yes, checkout the above thread, kirk's FatDog is progressing rapidly. Kirk is creating an Intel 64bit version. This is one of the Woof-built Puppy5 series.
