Universal Installer bugfix

I did a full hd install of 4.3 and encountered a bug. The desktop came up with mostly the Rox default icons, not the current theme icons.

The particular circumstance that caused this was I previously had 430 installed on the partition but chose to wipe when testing the latest pup. The installer runs /etc/rc.d/rc.update in the newly installed partition, and it is supposed to perform some actions based on it being a version upgrade -- however the installer had already recorded that version 430 was in the partition so did not know that upgrade actions were required.

Well, anyway, the end result was that rc.update did not run the code that installs the icon theme into /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps.

Fixed.

A minor point, but in the UI dialog box texts, the suggested addition to the grub menu.lst includes the parameter "nosmp". Most new kernels & Pups seem to offer smp, and with more newer computers trying Puppy, could the "nosmp" option be better expressed? I assume "nosmp" turns off the extra cores if multicores are in fact present. David S.

"Some uniprocessor systems do not work with the smp-enabled kernel. The 'nosmp' boot option turns it off. It makes the difference between booting and not booting, so that's why it is there by default. We experienced this problem, but haven't verified it with the latest kernel. The official kernel docs still warn of it though. Like so many things in Puppy that might seem odd, you look back into the history and often there is a good reason!
