Dpup beta5 coming
November 26, 2009 —
BarryK
Gposil and team have been busy developing the next-generation Puppy, that we have been terming "Puppy5". Gposil has announced that beta5 should be uploaded tonight. Follow development here:

Here is the Dpup home site:
http://www.dpup.org/
I was just thinking yesterday, we have the "pet_packages-5" directory sitting virtually empty at ibiblio.org. So, that could be a home for Dpup PET packages. I won't manage uploading to it though -- Gposil or someone can have ftp access to it.

"Nope...works fine here...Tried it in Firefox, and streaming it...both worked perfectly. Could be hardware related
pgprs-connect upgrade needed

"
#pgprs-connect
needs to be typed into a console to get gprs to connect. this has been fixed previously in 431 and 421. the require link in the start menu doesnt appear even after restartx or reboot in dpup. the movie on the page above is now playing correctly in my gprs connection whereas dpup with firefox twice crashed in my previous wifi connection, and also news.com.au home page crashed firefox once in wifi. crashed as in complete screen black-out and no response from any keys but the power and battery lights still on. hardware is is eeepc701. never had that problem with other puppies. some but not very many movies from that site will play in opera 10 on 431,421,ect.

"Hi Barry, out of all the woof breeds I've always likde Dpup the best, It just runs quicker on my pc's, Gposil has tossed the towel in and dejan555 has picked-up where he left off and just released updated version, but Its 171MB kind of a heavy weight Dpup. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=521358#521358 I was wondering if you have the time maybe you could update dpup to one of the latest version. Its been sometime since lenny came out and since then there has been squeeze, wheezy, sid released.
