Read my recent blog posts to find out what I have done since 005. As to what is planned for 007, well, I hope to get stuck into the problems with networking. There are some issues with Xorg on certain hardware and I hope to give that some attention also.

Seamonkey preferences overwritten

"This comment is not related specifically to Quirky 006 and is a minor annoyance which perhaps you can correct in future builds. The file /root/.mozilla/seamonkey/..../prefs.js contains customisation settings which include language, spellchecker language, search engine, etc but it is always overwritten by your upgrade script. Can you leave prefs.js untouched unless you are upgrading the Seamonkey version, in which case the default version may be safer?

"Hi Barry I've been trying different browsers, I came across this Qt browsers called arora [u]http://code.google.com/p/arora/[/u] When you make a pet its 1MB, and 1.4MB pet with all 31 locales, Plus the Qt libs like webkit. The nice thing about this browser is that flash 10 fullscreen works perfect, better than any mozilla based version etc. One thing it doesn't have is spellcheck could be a Qt compile time extra. Depending how small you could get a QT package for it could be around 8-9MB, It might save some space. Plus the extra QT libs could useful for many other apps. Like VLC as a default mediaplayer, that would make lots of people happy :) Since it takes a lot less resources compared to Gxine or Mplayer. Also Qxmp is QT gui for mplayer. Anyways just an Idea :) ttuuxxx

"I like Quirky 0.0.5 . Is it only me or is subtitles on avi files not working in version 0.0.6. ?? .SRT and .idx .sub are not working and the player is mutch slower. As ttuuxxx is writing, I aggree fully ! So it would be verry nice to have a compact browser and VLC as media player. Second as this is a media special, removing all not neaded sofware would be nice too
