libgphot2, gphoto2, gtkam

This is a very great day for me! I am finally able to use Gtkam without it crashing on me.
This problem stretches back years. Each time a new release of Gtkam, I have hopefully upgraded, only to be disappointed. But, this time, I accessed my camera, and it works!
I have a Fuji Finepix A610, a model that is not supported, however the "USB PTP Class camera" setting works fine. One little gripe is that Gtkam does not automatically fall back to using that and I have to manually select it -- which many new users would not know to do.
These are the versions I am now using in Quirky (due out as 007 in a couple of days):
libgphoto2 2.4.8
gphoto2 2.4.8
gtkam 0.1.17

Aragon has posted these as well for puppy, here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=37453 Along with gphotofs gphotofs allows you no mount your camera on Linux using FUSE. May work with pupevent{back, front}end?
