Family crisis

BarryK
Just to let everyone know, I am somewhat pre-occupied right now, since Saturday. Still doing a bit of Puppy development but offline.
A close relative had a stroke, speech became jumbled, etc. We called an ambulance and have taken turns keeping him company, first in an emergency ward then in an intensive care ward. He needs an operation on the brain, but first has to wait until blood-thinning medications get out of his system.
I'm at his place tonight, using his computer. I booted Puppy off a CD, as I never like using anyone's Windows system -- don't want to risk typing my passwords into unknown Windows-based systems.

I hope you're in a country that has a health card plan. It helps in both treatment and impact on family day-to-day fortunes. "01739"92.26.154.114'Re health card plan"BarryK"Australia is one of those fortunate countries that has a national health support system. The public hospital system is free and quite good. However, my relative has private cover -- which is an interesting situation as he is being treated in a public hospital. His private cover entitles him to a private specialist surgeon rather than one of the in-hospital doctors. He also may be able to get a private room later on, a complimentary toiletry pack, $5 free phone calls, complimentary meal for a visitor! ...though I was never offered a meal while sitting there  His intensive care ward is pretty good, he is quite cheerful and is enjoying all the attention from the nurses. (It's working great, though I haven't quite mastered the learning curve. Thanks!) I'm sorry to hear the news -- best wishes to you and your family."27 Jul 2010, 9:18"01739"71.62.123.39'Prayers!"edoc"Sure will pray in-agreement for excellent care and God's hand of healing. We lost an uncle to something similar a few weeks ago - but he was in his 80's and a high-stress guy all of his life. Your relative is blessed to have close family to help -- and that your government-care allows private insurance -- the countries that don't have real problems (no incentive for excellence). Family first! The Puppy will still be there smiling and wagging his tail when you return from your more-important duties."27 Jul 2010, 10:28"01739"207.144.76.140'My prayer with you and your relative"jamesbond"My prayer with you and your relative. Foiled again:("29 Jul 2010, 2:39"01739"60.50.70.2'Gibran / Haskell"FeodorF"Find out the best in a person and tell him about it. We all need that. I have grown up on praise - and it has made me humble. It will always make a person long to deserve the praise. And any real consciousness is aware of something much greater than itself. Praise means understanding. We all are fine and great, fundamentally; overestimation of one another is impossible. Learn to see the greatness and the loveliness in one another - and to tell one another of it when we see it. He is getting better, was able to say complete sentences today. A few of days ago it was mostly scrambled, his writing too, plus partial paralysis, and confusion. I'm still minding his place, but managing to do a bit of work on the Woof scripts. Underlying stuff, that might not be much noticeable in the final built puppy. Username: 1 Aug 2010, 19:41
