Agere, Conexant modems work

Well, kind of for the Agere modem...
Agere
This one uses /dev/ttyS1 and PupDial detects it and dials out, however it disconnects after a few seconds -- barely enough time to bring up my blog!
This modem card is an Agere Systems, Venus Modem (V90 56Flex), chip numbers 11c1:0480.
Conexant
Success, using it right now. Uses /dev/ttySHCF0. However, PupDial has a bug -- it tests for existence of /etc/hcfmodem/nvm, when in fact it should be /etc/hcfpcimodem/nvm -- and the 'CONNECT' button was grey-out -- I edited the script and was able to dialout.
The Conexant chip is Conexant Systems, Inc., HCF 56k Data/Fax Modem, chip 14f1:1033.
Actually, this is the first time I have had these modems working. I am running Wary "100" with my 'zzz' PET.
