Agrsm over-writes screen

One of the agrsm analog modem modules loads on my laptop. My Acer Aspire 3681WXMi laptop has an internal analog dialup modem, which works with the Agere driver.
However, at the first boot, the modem module writes to the screen when one of the dialog windows is displaying, partly over-writing it. It is mostly a messy cosmetic problem.
I have done a quick hack to all three Agere modem sources, taking out some of the 'printk' statements.
