A10 .fex and .bin config files

I am posting this for my own future reference
On the Mele A1000 there is a compiled configuration file named 'evb.bin'. This has been a mystery to me, but the fog is gradually clearing.

There is another utility to convert a .fex file to .bin, available as binary executable only. This page has a link to it:

This has a Ruby script to convert the other way: https://github.com/zenitraM/a10tools It's obviously some trivial conversion, so I wonder why no one has bothered writing a script for .fex to .bin, rather than rely on the binary...

"steev, Yes, I have it, tested it and it works. I fiddled with one of the parameters, to try and get my SATA drive to work, no go.
