Jemimah and vicmz have created some nice icons for the desktop and menu:

I have uploaded these to the 'noarch' repo on ibiblio:
Jemimah (106KB, 104KB):

http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-noarch/desk_icon_theme_neu-1.pet
vicmz (131KB, 125KB, 151KB, 135KB):
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-noarch/desk_icon_theme_jungle-1.pet
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-noarch/desk_icon_theme_malays_uniblack-1.pet
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-noarch/desk_icon_theme_malays_uniblue-1.pet
http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-noarch/desk_icon_theme_shining_silver-1.pet
...note, these are smaller than vicmz's original PETs, as some redundant images removed.

"vicmz, Yeah, if you look at what Jemimah created, that is the minimum required set. When you choose a to use an icon set, it gets copied into /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps, and if there is no 24x24 icon it gets created. Also, if any svg icons they get converted to 24x24 and 48x48 png icons. In retrospect, this is probably not a very efficient way of doing it (making copies of original, and the conversions), but that's what we have got for now.

"Oh yes, and we don't need those "mounted drive" icons anymore, as they are auto-generated also.
