This is the Woof used to build Squeezed Puppy 4.99.2, see previous post:

The main changes since may 13 are an ALSA fix and various little fixes required to build the latest Dpup.

I have not uploaded a tarball of the latest Woof, as at this stage I want to encourage download of the full history of Woof, as instructed in the Woof intro page. Broadband Internet access is required.

When you use Woof to build a Puppy, you can at any time sync to the latest Woof just by executing this:

# bones download

That is, after I have announced a new upload of Woof.

This will upgrade your Woof. But note, if you have modified any of the official Woof files, they are not deleted, they are archived and you can then examine the differences -- if you have made improvements to any official Woof scripts you can let me know, for possible inclusion in Woof.

I want to emphasise the importance of running "bones download" to sync with latest Woof. There have been cases where a developer has downloaded Woof once, then extensively modified and not bothered to track/sync with Woof after that. It does take a certain disciplined approach to project management.

While I think of it: Say you have your Woof project directory, named say 'woof-tree' and you want to make a copy of it. Do not use ROX-Filer. Instead use the 'cp' command:

# cp -a woof-tree woof-tree-backup

...with the '-a' option. This will ensure preservation of owner:group of directories and files, that ROX does not preserve.
