For anyone interested, Quirky6 is looking good, and I might be able to upload the official public 6.0 release in a few days. Can't promise, will see how it goes -- I am testing, and have a shortlist of bugs.

What is particularly unfortunate is that it only takes one person abusing the blog, to force me to take precautions -- I will have to go back to the system of requesting a username and password by email.

Warning !!! do not use any version of gparted before version 0.14.0 (found in Wheezy)
to manipulate your USB stick.
I found that early versions of gparted will remove 'legacy' boot
flag. This was causing my problems with formating
the unallocated space on my USB stick.
To check your version of gparted here's what to do...
Launch gparted and try to change the flags on your device.
If you DO NOT see a 'Legacy boot' option then this version
of gparted should be avoided!!
