EasyOS Dunfell-series 0.92 alpha release
The aborted 0.91 alpha release was announced a couple of days ago, please read:
https://bkhome.org/news/202010/easyos-dunfell-series-091-alpha-release.html
Here is the download link:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64/releases/dunfell/0.92/
Please report whether this boots on your PC!
All of the packages were recompiled to run on a Nocona CPU, which is
just about the earliest 64-bit CPU architecture released by Intel. So it
will run on everything later.
The kernel is 5.4.59, from EasyOS Buster. I have yet to compile it
for Dunfell series. Ditto, have not yet compiled SeaMonkey (SM) and
LibreOffice (LO). These were previously compiled with a gcc that was
producing "illegal instructions". I have hopefully fixed gcc and it is
in the 'devx' SFS. I posted about the gcc saga here:
https://bkhome.org/news/202010/gcc-fixed-by-recompiling-in-running-easyos.html
So, no SM or LO, but 0.92 does have the Epiphany web browser, which
is quite nice. Nice collection of graphical and multimedia apps also. A
fairly small download, at 345MB.
Let me know if you discover any problems, or even if you don't -- that would be nice to know also! Forum for feedback:
Over the next couple of days, I intend to get stuck into compiling
the kernel, SM and LO, and have a look at bluetooth audio.
EDIT 2020-10-17:
