openssl updated to 3.0.8

February 24, 2023 — BarryK

Jon (scsijon in the forum) posted a warning about security vulnerabilities in 'openssl' and the need to update to version 3.0.8 (or 1.1.1t):

As I compile every package in OpenEmbedded, and the recipe for 'openssl' is rather complicated, I had to wait until the OE devs have updated. Within the last few days, they have:

http://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/recipe/68561/

I downloaded the 3.0.8 recipe and compiled the package. Commits:

Note, there have been some other package compiles in OE recently; xf86-video-s3virge, xf86-video-trident, xvidtune.
