Zenity incompatibility with Yad

EasyOS has 'zenity' a symlink to 'yad'. The latter is a fork of the former, and 'zenity' is I think an inactive project. 'yad' has moved on and no longer completely compatible, so the symlink may not work, as was found here:

MochiMoppel came up with a fix, a simple script for 'zenity'; looks good, have gone for that. I know that there are other differences between 'yad' and 'zenity', but this script solves the immediate problem.
