Duplicate container icons created on desktop

The usr-merge collateral damage is continuing. I posted about some issues when updated easy 5.4.10 installed on my Lenovo PC to 5.5:

Just now, I install the 5.5 devx sfs, but after reboot got these duplicate icons:

The culprit seems to be /usr/local/easy_containers/ec-fix-desktop, which is called from /root/.xinitrc when Xorg starts. Some commits that should fix it:

If you are running 5.5, a quick hack to avoid this problem is to comment-out line 127 in /root/.xinitrc

Then on the desktop manually delete the duplicate icons.
