Xorg/X11 lives on!
I recently posted how I intend to "position" EasyOS going forward, so as to clarify how it differs from other Linux distributions. Some mumblings on this topic here:

Yeah, so have decided not to move to Wayland. Then I wondered, given the corporate juggernauts controlling Linux, how long can EasyOS maintain that defiance?
Fortunately, many have "stepped up to the plate" in defiance of systemd, and for that reason Easy Daedalus, and the upcoming Easy Excalibur, are built with Devuan packages.
Is Wayland a "bad thing"? Discussion on that topic in the Puppy forum:

See this post in that thread:

And now we have Xorg being forked, see the report at The Register:

For me, Xorg works, and EasyOS has a plethora of apps that require Xorg. Also lots of apps that require gtk2, and likely they will never get upgraded to gtk3. So I intend to stay with Xorg and keep gtk2 alive also.
I'm interested to know whether Xlibre will build up into a
credible alternative, and backed by many people, or wither. We
could then have a "Devuan-X11"
distribution!
