Download latest SeaMonkey
Now that shellCMS is able to use LibreOffice Writer to create blog posts, that is one less reason to have SeaMonkey builtin. One of two reasons; the other is want an email client app builtin.
Currently evaluating Claws-mail, and if do decide that it will be builtin, then SeaMonkey won’t. But for those who want SeaMonkey, it needs to be easy to install. Yes, it is a PET package available via PKGget, but I can do better than that. I have added a download entry, just like other browsers:
Yeah, it works:
And installed:
It creates all the menu entries, like before, for browser, mail, composer and irc chat.
It downloads from the MX Linux package repository, and looks like it has regular updates.
Now back on to evaluating Claws. Was able to import mail from SM, so tick that box. So far have not been able to setup oath2 for pop and smtp at gmail – had to use the “app password” method. Will look at it again. 4.00am right now so have to quit.
